It's not the eastern sierra but it's got some fall color. Did you know that Mount Diablo is the highest mountain in the bay area? It's a got a great view from up top.
Too bad you didn't find any tarantulas to photograph while you were there. They used to be more common, I think.
By the way, if you are still looking for bugs to photograph, we found a praying mantis last night. :) She's sitting in a small aquarium on my desk at work.
